Yes, this is exactly what it looks like, Jason laying on a hospital bed in the ER. How you may ask did he end up here? Well you see he got up and went to class and then came home and went straight back to bed. I figured that since he had an early class he was just tired, so I let him sleep. I came home from work around 6 pm and he was still in bed! I joked around with him and told him he was lazy, but all he wanted to do was sleep, and he said that his tummy hurt. He frequently gets stomach aches and so I didn't think anything about it. I went on with my night doing homework, going to the library, and all sorts of stuff. Around 11 pm he finally got out of bed and was saying that his tummy really hurt and he could barely walk, we started doing research on the computer. From everything that we read we were pretty sure it was his appendix. We figured that we should go to the hospital but we knew it was going to be expensive so we decided that we would just wait until 8 in the morning when the student health center opened. He didn't really ever start feeling better, so around midnight we called some people in the ward and they came over and gave him a blessing. We sat around for another hour doing more research and everything that we found said that if we suspect that it was an appendix, then go in IMMEDIATELY because it is a very serious condition! Jason didn't really want to go in, but I told him that if I woke up in the morning and he didn't wake up next to me, that I was going to be ticked at him! He finally decided that he would rather be safe than sorry, so we loaded up in the car and went to the ER. We checked in at 1:09 am...this picture is Jason being a good sport and waiting for the doctors and all the results. We waited so long, for being an "emergency," they sure were slow!!!
Turns out that it was appendicitis, and he had to have his appendix removed. Definitely was a long sleepless night, but on the bright side I did get a lot of homework done! Note to self, go to the hospital earlier in the day instead of waiting until the time when you should be sleeping!

May 2 - Eyeball
I know, I know, you all (Lisa and Nichole) think I am a nerd because of this picture. Well, the truth is that yes, I am indeed a nerd, but I didn't take this picture because I am obsessed with the eye. I took it because I went to open lab to study and Jason had to work. I felt bad leaving him hanging, so I took pictures to help him study. I don't think he ever looked at them, so it kinda defeated the purpose, but it was the thought that counts, right?
May 1 - Personal Jungle Gym
I may be a little biased because I am family, but I am pretty sure that these two kids are some of the cutest kids I have ever seen! These are my cousins Tegel and Annaleise. We go over to their house usually every week, and they love it! They have the idea in their head that Jason is their personal jungle gym. Today they were using him as a trampoline. Not so sure if that is really recommended, probably not, but they loved it!
April 30 - Cafe Rio
Lisa and I went on a date to Idaho Falls and did all sorts of things. Of all the pictures that I had to choose from, I thought this was the most intriguing. We went to Cafe Rio to eat, which is amazing by the way, and this was the drink machine. What a cool idea! I don't know if all of the Cafe Rio's are like this, but I was amazed, I had never seen it before. Not going to lie, I wouldn't mind having this in my house =)
April 29 - False Alarm
The daffodils that were so beautiful yesterday, that were a sure sign of spring, are now not so happy. Can you believe how beautiful it was, and then it just has to snow again! I am starting to think that the snow has some sort of revenge that it is trying to get on Rexburg. Maybe it doesn't like the snowplows...who knows?! The weather here is crazy! Maybe it will be spring again tomorrow.

April 28 - Spring is here!!!
Jason and I were walking home from class and we saw these daffodils in our neighbors yard. I was so excited because these are my favorite flowers. I think that this means it is finally going to be spring in Rexburg!!! Yay!! This really made my day. Plus, I think the fence in the background is pretty sweet. I will say that I did feel somewhat awkward just walking through their yard to take the picture. They are Asian and they don't speak English, so we can't even talk to them. It's ok though, we survived, they didn't come out and try to kill us or anything crazy. Spring is here!!!
April 27 - Food
So, for dinner I made chicken fettuccine alfredo with broccoli. I was so excited for this to be my picture of the day because I made it from scratch. The problem is that it really doesn't look all that appetizing in the picture. I know it was good though. Oh well. Turned out to be a lame picture.

April 26 - Bishop's Birthday
So this is kind of cheating on pictures, but I didn't have any good ones for this day. On Sunday, the 24th, it was our Bishop's birthday. I must say that we have a pretty awesome ward and some fun people in charge. Somebody got the idea to throw a surprise birthday party for our bishop. People brought all the makings for the party, and then after church most of the ward went and hid in the gym and turned the lights off. When Bishop walked in the gym we all said "surprise"!!! And we had a little party for him. I had to take a picture of this cake, it was by far the coolest one there. I am not even sure who made it, but they did an amazing job! (I forgot to say that our bishop is a hardcore fisherman and that is what he does in all of his free time.) Awesome cake, great ward, and a fantastic birthday party.
April 25 - Taco Bell
Today we decided to go to Taco Bell for lunch with some of our friends. We weren't quite sure what we should order, so we decided to get the GRANDE meal. It comes with 10 items (bean and cheese burritos, hard tacos, or soft tacos). You can mix and match or get all the same. We were so excited, and it sounded really cool. So, we ordered it, and sure enough, it was a TON of food! I figured it would be ok though because Jason was helping me and he can eat alot!!
Well, I hate to admit it, but we couldn't finish it. We fell 3 shy. Lame sauce!!!! Still fun, and very full.

April 24 - Easter
Triplets that look nothing alike. Two girls, one short and one half way tall, and a brown boy. The yellow shirts definitely mean that they are triplets though! It was Easter Sunday and Nichole came over for dinner and to do her laundry. I had never really had an Easter dinner before, so I didn't know what to make. We ended up having meatballs, mashed potatoes and corn. It was sure yummy! We all just happened to be wearing yellow that day, I guess that's just what we do on Easter. This is our small little family away from home.

April 23 - Chinese candy
This may be weird, but I have no idea what is in this or what exactly it is. Jason brought it home one day and said that a guy in Wal-mart gave it to him. It looked like clear jello and it had some sort of fruit or candy suspended in it. I opened it and took a lick but then it kinda weirded me out and so I threw it away. Jason thought I was crazy for trying it, but I didn't die, so it must not be lethal.
April 22 - My plants
I am pretty sure I fail at life! I hope kids are somewhat easier to keep alive than plants!!! The plant on the right has stuck with me for over a year and its still going strong. The one on the left was a present that Jason got me for my birthday. It barely lasted a month. I just don't understand, I water them at the same time. Why did it die? They were even daffodils, those are my favorite!!! The one that lived is just some random green plant, I don't even know what. I am not sure what my problem is.
April 21 - Uphill both ways
You know how your parents always tell you stories of how they walked uphill both ways to school. Well, it may not be a lie. The picture on the top is on my way to school and the picture on the bottom is on my way home from school. It may not look like it, but I promise that they are both uphill, my heart can prove it! I don't know how many places this can happen in, but Rexburg is definitely one of them. Campus is conveniently located on a giant hill!!! With the location of our house it just so happens that we can walk uphill both ways =)
April 20 - Betterish
The next morning the bleeding on his toe had stopped and we could see that it definitely wasn't going to heal itself because it was only connected at the root. We went to the Student Health Center and they took off his whole toenail and then wrapped it in a lovely bright purple bandage, very manly, and sent him on his way. You should have seen the looks people were giving him on campus. Not only was he wearing flip flops, but he also had a huge purple toe. So funny!
April 19 - Busted Toe
So, the night before school started Jason and I had the brilliant idea of re-arranging our living room. Why we didn't do it a few days before, I have no idea! It seemed like a good idea at the time. Anyways, we were in the process of dragging our gigantic TV across the floor since it is too heavy to lift, and Jason's toe got caught under it. He ended up ripping his toenail almost completely off. It started bleeding like crazy and we weren't quite sure what to do. He couldn't really walk because it would start bleeding again, but our living room wasn't even close to being finished! I ended up going to Wal-mart and getting a few things to bandage him up, it was quite a night!
April 18 - Lasagna
Yeah, that's right...homemade lasagna. Lasagna is one of my most favorite foods, but I have never really made it from scratch because it seems hard, so I decided to give it a try. The end result was fantastic!! I was definitely a fan and will probably do it more often. I was amazed at how easy it actually was, not bad at all! Jason definitely enjoyed it too. I'm not so sure if he counts though because he likes all food...
April 17 - Zebra Bed
My aunt and uncle are probably the coolest people I know!!! One day they decided that they were sick of their regular bed, and so they decided to make a new one. They made the frame out of wood and then wrapped it in foam and covered it with zebra print fabric. Talk about some ambitious people!!! They also hung the net thingy above the bed. My aunt is still working on the bedspread, but it is coming together quite nicely. I am still just in awe, who randomly decides that they should make a bed one day?!

April 16 - The Wal-Mart Parking Lot
I work at the Subway that is inside of Wal-Mart, so I have seen a few interesting things in the parking lot from time to time. This particular morning was one of my favorites. Who doesn't want a truck that can double as an RV and a trailer without having to actually pull anything behind them. And they always say that women are multi-taskers...this truck has a camper shell in the bed, a motorcycle strapped to the front on some sort of shelf thing, and then to a canoe strapped to the very top. I really want to see them load and unload all of this, I have to assume that it is rather entertaining.
April 15 - The shelf
When Jason and I went on a date this shelf was above the table we were sitting at. I told Jason that I wanted one just like this for our house, it is perfect!!! It has hooks for your keys and then you could put pictures or something on the actual shelf part, and not to mention, it is red!!! Not going to lie, there have been a few things I have taken from restaurants, like little dishes or pails for crayons, but this was a little bigger so I decided I probably should leave it there. One day I will have a shelf like this, just wait, you'll see.

April 14 - Craigo's
Jason and I went on a date to none other than Craigo's. This was the pile of our dishes from the evening. I don't really know if I should be impressed or disgusted, that is 8 plates and there is only 2 of us. At least 2 of the plates were from salad, that is healthy right?! The pizza and the pasta not so much. Oh well, we definitely got our moneys worth.

April 13 - My book
I am pretty sure this is the coolest book that I, Christine Brittany Hart, own! I know, that is an extremely nerdy statement, but I am not even joking! I got this book when we went to the Bodies Exhibit, and I pretty much think it is one of the coolest things since the invention of peanut butter. I have an anatomy book for school, but this one is way better! It is packed full of pictures and captions instead of pages and pages of big huge words that nobody knows the meaning of. I hope my future kids one day will love it and be as nerdy as me!
April 12 - Attempting to decorate
There is a super awesome craft/home decor store in Rexburg that is going out of business and so everything is 50% off. I went in there today and came out with this. I really liked the bucket and it had these stick thingys in it. I have no idea what they are or what they are supposed to resemble, but I bought them anyways. They have grown on me since. It's probably a good thing I bought them because I'm not really sure what I would have put in the bucket. Now I am on a mission to figure out where in the world this should go in my house.
April 11 - Chaco's =)
My most loved pair of shoes are finally being worn again!!!! This means that it is starting to get warmish outside. Starting is the key word, it is by no means warm yet, but it is heading that direction. These shoes rock, they can be worn with anything; jeans, skirts, capri's, shorts, wedding dress, ANYTHING! They are extremely comfortable and they give you rockin tan lines! I am pretty positive that every single person should own a pair, they will make you happy! =)
April 10 - Sandwiches
Yes, I work at Subway, so I am indeed a sandwich artist. At work we make crazy sandwiches all the time but at home they are pretty basic, most of the time. Today was not one of those days! I couldn't decide if I wanted one sandwich or two. One and a half is the perfect amount, but I hate making a sandwich on one piece of bread and then folding it in half. So, I came up with this genius idea! Basically it is one and a half sandwiches without the retarded half, I know it was brilliant! The only down side was that it was really tall and awkward. Oh well, it was amazing! Jason stuck with his normal three sandwiches the regular way, and he just laughed at me. Come on though, you know mine looks cooler!

April 9 - BODIES
In my opinion the human body is the most amazing thing in this world! There is no way that it was created by accident, or a coincidental bang. It is a beautiful piece of art that has a perfect design. Maybe I am a nerd, but I think that the body is amazingly interesting and I would love it if I got to spend the rest of my life studying it. There is just so much to learn. My love for this subject plays a big part in me wanting to be a nurse.
The body exhibit basically walks you inside and out through the human body. It shows you bones, muscles, organs, body systems, development, and so much more. The dissections of the bodies are so intricate and amazing, and are done with extreme patience and precision. This exhibit shows you so much more than what any picture in a book could ever do. Everything in the exhibit is real, except for the eyeballs, but those can't really be preserved that well. My favorite parts were the room that shows the circulatory system and the room that shows the development of a fetus. Bodies were so perfectly thought out and planned, and there are so many places that a mistake could have been made. Be thankful for the way you turned out because your body is a miracle and a gift sent straight from our Heavenly Father. You could have turned out much worse!
Camera's weren't allowed or else I would have quite a few more pictures for this day.

April 8 - Phineas and Ferb
I LOVE PHINEAS AND FERB!!!!
I know, I know, this is a Disney Channel show, and it is supposed to be for kids, but it is AWESOME! Jason and I watch it all the time. It is one of those shows that both kids and adults can love. Weirdly enough it was created by the same guys that created Family Guy and the Simpson's. The biggest difference is that this one is totally clean and kid friendly, and to top it off, extremely entertaining!
I do wonder how in the world they came up with the name Ferb, but oh well, it is still a fantastic show.

April 7 - Are you serious?!
It was one of those mornings where I was running late for work, and then wouldn't you know it, I go outside and my car was covered in snow. I couldn't help but laugh, it is APRIL, no more snow! Come on Idaho, I think it is time to warm up, the first day of spring was all the way back in March!!! Luckily it was just a skiff, one of the mountain passes got three feet overnight.
April 6 - Orange Juice
I found an add in the newspaper for orange juice, 2 for $5. That really isn't that good of a deal in most places, but in Rexburg it is great! I was so excited, so I used the coupon. Jason doesn't like pulp, and I love it!!! (Can you guess who's is who's?) I know, this is a lame picture of the day, but it's all I could come up with =)

April 5 - Horkley's/Tuna
Oh Horkley's how I've missed you!!! It is finals week for Jason, and we all know what that means...extremely late nights, maybe even early mornings. Jason picked me up from work tonight and then we made a stop at Horkley's for the huge cups that are less than $1 to fill. They are fantastic! I have been out of school for a few months, so I had forgotten about the all nighters of finals week and the things you do to keep yourself awake.
I would have had an even better picture today if I had been thinking, but I totally spaced it! I was making tuna sandwiches for lunch and somehow when I went to drain the can, the tuna it jumped out and plastered my shirt. It was unlike anything I had ever seen! Like I said, I have no idea how it happened, but it was quite the experience! I didn't really know what to do, so I washed it off and then the thought of taking a picture crossed my mind like 3 seconds too late. =(

April 4 - Disappearing husband
Jason is so funny! He reminds me of myself all too much. Today when he got home from his military fitness class I was in the kitchen doing dishes. I had heard the door open, so I knew that he was home, but when I walked into the living room to say hi this is what I saw. There were all the outer layers of sweats and jackets, but no Jason...it was like he disappeared into thin air. It gave me a good laugh because I do the same thing when I walk in the door, I drop everything I have at the moment that I am no longer in need of.
April 3 - Camping
So, for our wedding my family got us camping gear. We got married at the end of the summer and then school started shortly after that, so we didn't really have time to use our new stuff. (In Rexburg it snows and snows and then takes forever to melt, so even if we did have a free weekend to go camping, it would be too cold to actually enjoy it.) We were really feeling the camping bug, so we decided to set up the air mattress and sleeping bag that we got. The only problem was that we didn't decide to do this until 1 in the morning, with an electric air pump and all. It definitely was not the quiet set up that we had thought it would be. The poor people that live above us, they probably hate us and think that we are crazy! And yes, that is one giant sleeping bag that fits two people and has room to spare.
April 2 - Date Night
Jason got home from work before me one night, and when I walked in the door he was all dressed up. He told me that he wanted to take me on a date. I just laughed because it was 10:30 pm and just about everything closes at 11 pm in Rexburg. Regardless, I changed and we went on a date. We went through the McDonald's drive-thru and got some food, watched the lights and random people in front of the movie theater while eating our burgers, and then came home and watched a movie and had ice cream. He is just too cute, I am pretty sure it would be impossible not to love him!
April 1 - April Fool's
It was April 1st and I was craving fruit snacks. I went into my pantry pulled out a random package of fruit snacks from the box, and sat down at the table to enjoy them. When I opened the package this is what I saw...8 fruit punch smilies and 1 watermelon. Fruit punch is by far my least favorite kind in the whole package, so I was rather disappointed. All I could do was laugh, I am convinced that this was a planned April Fool's joke by the Wal-Mart packaging plant!! Seriously though, what are the chances?! I have had fruit snacks countless times and I have never seen this. I just had to take a picture.
The reason behind starting a blog...
Lisa Hokanson is one of my best friends, and I love her to death! A few months ago Lisa started a blog and decided to post a picture a day. I have been thinking about this lately and decided that she is a genius, and it is a wonderful idea. You have to admit, there are some pretty funny things that happen day to day, you might as well share them. Give everyone something to smile about.
